      A drink of character with incomparable qualities and pronounced aromas of fresh apples, the Kupela apple wine pays tribute to the history and gastronomy of the Basque Country. Produced here for generations, the apple wine, very different from Norman cider, is the essential drink of tapas and pintxo evenings. It also has its place on the best tables of the Basque Country.

      An unchanged method

      To develop his Sagardoa, Kupela appealed to Agustín Etxeberria, master cider in Astigarraga, the mecca of Basque cider. With him, they developed a clean range, infusing a new dynamic to the Basque elixir without ever betraying tradition.

      The slow natural fermentation of the apple juice transforms the sugars into alcohols, the know-how of Agustín giving birth to fresh, low-alcohol drinks preserving the naturally acidic aromas of the Basque apples.

      A bit of history

      Kupela pays tribute to the Basque sailors who loaded cider barrels, rich in vitamin C to fight against scurvy. More scurvy to fear nowadays but nutritional and taste qualities sought pintxo lovers and tapas. Its acidity, its lightness and its fruity are in perfect harmony with Basque gastronomy so much appreciated by modern epicureans.

      SAGARDOA / ORGANIC APPLE WINE

      Sagardoa Kupela combines the character and the mouthfeel of traditional Basque apple wine with the tangy sweetness of fresh apples. If it is not sparkling, it nevertheless offers a slight natural pearl that enhances the feeling of freshness and pleasure. To be reserved for savory dishes, at the table or as an aperitif. Now produced in BIO.

      The SAGARDOA is to taste fresh, between 9 ° and 11 °.

      BIZIA / CIDRE DEMI-SEC

      Bizia is a modernized version of Basque cider, sweet but not very sweet, which allows a bit of sparkling, like its cousins Norman. It remains very fine and elegant in the mouth, preserving the flavor of the fruit, in a clear robe that brighten the taste buds. The idea is to have a cider that respects the typicality of what is done in the Basque Country while seducing lovers of sweet ciders.

      BIZIA is to taste at 8 °, very fresh, as an aperitif or to accompany crepes or desserts.

    Good cider but the place indicated on Google Maps does not really correspond to the photos displayed. This is a warehouse, no visit required as it is not a production site. Very average friendliness.

    Perfect. Beautiful design and above all what taste. A true artisanal Basque cider. A beautiful and good range which is starting to be very complete. Can satisfy children as well as adults and see cider experts in search of traditional Basque cider. I am addicted to this cider.

    I discovered Kupela’s semi-dry cider at (the excellent) Piper Beltz creperie in Saint Jean de Luz. It is delicious, neither too dry nor too sweet. And what’s more, we employ a local company. Well done !
