L'Atelier du Chocolat is an adventure that started in 1951 in Bayonne thanks to Joseph and Madeleine Andrieu. In 1995, Serge and his wife Marie-Pierre Andrieu created the famous Bouquet de Chocolat. Since then, our chocolatiers have been dreaming up new products every day and devoting themselves to the art of tablage in order to create thin sheets of 100% pure cocoa butter chocolate by hand.

It is thanks to this innovation and creativity that you will be able to find all our delicacies in our Boutique Workshops or on our website here.

The choice of raw materials is a key step and we are committed to using high quality ingredients in order to offer 100% cocoa butter chocolates.

Our KIRESTA 70% cocoa dark chocolate is a unique composition of beans from Ecuador, São Tomé and Ivory Coast, a unique blend that has made it our signature chocolate for many years.

Living around chocolate, discovering new sensory journeys, this is the tasty and delicious experience offered by the Atelier du Chocolat.

Come and admire our chocolate makers at work in their "lab", separated from you only by a window during the "Chocolate discovery tour."

You can book the tours very easily online. We did it in one of the shops. The two people working in the shop in the museum were very nice and could speak English very well. Almost everything is also written in English. They even offered to change the video that usually runs in French to the video in English. You can watch them working in the factory. Very interesting. They have a little activity for children at the end. My daughter loved it. Trying the chocolate at the end was of course the best. The man working at the shop explained each piece of chocolate very well, and it was very interesting. Of course we couldn't leave empty handed.

This is THE place/palace of Chocolate! The museum offers a nice trip through chocolate history. In particular, it explains how Bayonne has become the chocolate capital city in France. The visit ends with a delicious tasting. Guided by an expert, you can taste different flavors of chocolate and also share your feedback. Kids are even offered a workshop … (this is a surprise!) Last but not least, the shop is a great opportunity to purchase top quality products for a reasonable price.

A fascinating journey through the history of chocolate and how the Basque country became such a powerhouse of the stuff. The tasting at the end was surprisingly informative! If you are staying at the nearby Campanile the 'atelier' is just behind it. Google's walking directions will take you on a long windy route, but there is significant shortcut... ask at reception.
