      Built between 1864 and 1884, by Viollet-Le-Duc, its neo-Gothic architecture and eclectic decoration make it one of the must-see sites and museums in the Basque Country. It will appeal to heritage lovers and families looking for a change of scenery.

      Children will also be able to discover the places in a fun way, through a treasure hunt.

      Open all year, except from January 3 to 24.

    Excellent investment to bring back this castle and the mostly forgotten scientific and geographic discoveries of Antoine d’Abbadie. Excellent very knowledgable tour guide. The whole family learned a lot. The park and the walk along the cliff looked superb … but it was one of these rainy Basque days. Well done, a great cultural outing in the Basque Country!

    you can't visit the castle because it's privately own, but definitely have a go in the gardens sorounding the property which are free and have good public WC if needed

    Interesante y bonito castillo con capilla, observatorio y un previsto y entorno. Personal superamable. Interesting and beautiful castle. It includes also a chapel and an observatory. Very lovely staff. I really recommend it.

    I toured the palace. It was beautiful. Went for many walks on the vast mountain property. Beautiful scenery.

    We knew this wasn't a genuine chateau but it reminded us of something from Disney. The original owner was obviously a great scientist but this building is a poor legacy.

    Although the guided tour was in French we were given a translation. Beautiful building and an interesting hour on a rainy day.
