CHEZ MAITÉ gives a spotlight on a flagship product of the Pays Basque. Very familiar to local population but unknown to others: the TALOa (or TALOak plural).
Located in the heart of Petit Bayonne, in front of Chateauneuf, CHEZ MAITÉ welcomes you in ongoing service.
The Talo is originally a flat wafer that Maité has turned into a soft and crispy slipper while keeping the traditional Herriko dough (half corn, half wheat).
Maité wanted to recover the original taste of yesteryear, the one she had known from her Atatxi (grandfather in Basque) in the family house in Ostabat, a village of low Navarre, a thick Talo, greedy and generous.
Garnished by the minute by an elaborate and original or exotic cuisine, you will find only local products.
On the basis of fresh regional products Maité prepares Taloak to taste but also some ice creams, ciders and beers only local.
The imagination has no limit. CHEZ MAITÉ only taste and quality are her priorities.
