- Barberaenea is a very old Basque inn which has just been completely renovated to offer all the comforts of a two-star hotel while preserving its old and traditional setting.
  
  The Elissetche family perpetuates the tradition of welcoming the generations that preceded it in the house since 1875.
  
  Haven of peace, sheltered from the weather, for those who want to rest away from the summer bustle. It is also an ideal vacation spot for exploring the Basque coast or the hinterland.

It was Sunday lunch. But they weren't full. And we only wanted drinks. Five of us arrived half way through a family cycle trip. Two coffees, two hot chocolates and an orangina would've been competitively priced. But it was the 5 euro per slice of Basque gateau that killed us! And no cream. Or berry sauce. Fifteen euros on three slices of cake. Shocker! Still. It was open. They were civil. And there didn't seem to be a whole heap of competition in the village.
