- Welcome to the Café de la Paix in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port! On the way to Compostela, we will be happy to welcome you in an authentic setting and to introduce you to the best specialties of the Basque region.
  
  We have an indoor room with around fifty seats, but also two shaded terraces in front and behind the restaurant, with around fifty seats. If you are looking for a warm Basque atmosphere, you will be served.
  
  Opening :
  • In July and August: closed Monday evening and Tuesday all day
  • From September to October and from March to June: every day, noon and evening except Monday evening and Tuesday
  • In November and December: Monday lunchtime, Wednesday lunchtime; Thursday noon; Friday noon and evening; Saturday noon and evening; Sunday noon
  
  Whether it's for tapas, a meal or even breakfast, you won't be short of choice! We offer specialties from our country such as Iraty trout, squid, veal axoa, duck breast, homemade confit sausages, Xingar burger... And many more! You will also find pizzas, burgers, salads, pasta, meats, combined plates... We also offer menus at 17€, 22€ and 28€ as well as a children's menu for the little ones.
  
  For early risers, we offer a breakfast formula with fresh bread, a pastry, a hot drink and an orange juice, or a savory breakfast with an omelet or fried eggs and ham...
  
  For those who prefer to take away the dishes and eat at home, it is possible to order our pizzas, our burgers, our salads or our pastas.

Good definitely worth waiting for and I’m debating on going back again tomorrow. Salads were very flavorful, fresh and quite big. Pizzas also were delicious, and decently sized. House red wine was local. Service was superb. Very quick and friendly.

Very good and exquisite dining for a very valuable price! Food is regional and of high quality. And no words for the Vino - like mostly every wine in France or Spain just tremendously gorgeous!

I had the Carbo which was delicious. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of rosé wine. Service was quick and staff were polite.

The pizzas were excellent, the chef kindly substituted mozzarella for Gruyère, delicious salads, and last but not least, our dog was allowed inside.
