  THE LICENCES
  The training at the YCAA
  The YCAA has a very long experience in training and has already trained more than 1600 people to the boat licenses.
  
  The new provisions concerning the boating licenses have been taken into account. The Y.C.A.A. training establishment, called "Bateau Ecole de l'Y.C.A.A." obtained the approval of the Maritime Affairs on January 14th, 2008.
  - The means
  A training room, equipped with a video projector, a professional audio-visual teaching program with control tests under exam conditions (remote control boxes).
  - An 8.50 m boat for practical training on the Adour river.
  - Use of the G.P.S., cartography, VHF and depth sounder for fishing.
  - Coastal license
  Preparation for the theoretical test: Theoretical training lasts 6 to 8 weeks at a rate of 4 to 5 hours per week. The courses take place in the evening from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm from Monday to Friday. The MCQ exam is organized by the Maritime Affairs.
  
  Practical training: The training requires at least 2 hours spent at the helm of the boat and one hour of group lessons. It is validated by the training establishment when the required objectives are reached. It consists in mastering the boat's driving skills, but also in learning the behaviors, especially in terms of safety (equipment, meteorology notions) or the most common breakdowns on a motorboat.
  
  This training is given collectively in a classroom for one hour, then individually on the boat during three ¾ hour sessions, depending on the availability of the candidates.
  - The Offshore license
  The exam consists of a theoretical test organized by the Maritime Affairs. Candidates must have previously held a Coastal License.
  
  The training consists of 10 sessions of 2h30 each and is spread over two months with one evening per week on Tuesday or Thursday from 7:30 pm to 10 pm.
  
  The content of the training includes the theoretical test of navigation (exercise on chart), tidal calculations and various questions (on meteorology and safety).
  - Radiotelephone Operator's Restricted Certificate (RRC)
  The duration is 4 sessions of 2h30 grouped together over two to three weeks:
  - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
  - The exam is organized by the ANFR administration (Agence Nationale des Fréquences).

Brilliant sea fishing experience with Philippe and his teammates. More than just a fishing trip, we met real enthusiasts who happily share their know-how. All in a good mood, with education and fish!

Great activity, the supervisors are very friendly and educational. We were made very welcome and had a great time! We brought back enough fish for three meals! We recommend ++++

A great fishing trip this morning of Thursday August 19. We have adored. The fishing instructors explained fishing to us well, we were even able to taste raw horse mackerel with lemon and salt as well as mackerel, a delight. Very supportive and know their job well. A very nice catch! As a bonus, we were able to observe the dolphins, the icing on the cake.
