House Gamboia Bed and breakfast in the Hasparren countryside between ocean and mountains

Maison Gamboia opened its doors in the Basque Country, in Hasparren, halfway between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-Pied de Port. Both a guesthouse and an artist's residence, the uniqueness of its living spaces lies in the immersion of guests in a setting dedicated to art, design and craftsmanship. Its 5 rooms highlight local artists, designers and artisans. The objects and works of art are to be given as gifts or collected. All windows offer a view of the garden, the forest and the surrounding mountains.

In a peaceful setting, the vast garden of Maison Gamboia is an invitation to stroll amidst the flower meadow, fruit trees, vegetable garden and permaculture area dedicated to herbs, edible flowers, perfumes and medicinal plants.

Breakfast and dinner are served exclusively using local, organic produce that complies with the IDOKI farm charter. This helps maintain rural employment and smaller farms in the Basque Country.

The Gamboia House hosts the cultural programming of the reciprocal association, an association that imagines new collaborative schemes interweaving artistic practices, artisanal heritage, and social sciences. The association connects artists and designers with artisans, historians, and researchers; and organizes research and creation residencies, educational workshops, and conferences on the arts, design, crafts, and social sciences. The reciprocal association implements actions with residents and develops lasting links with schools, cultural institutions, and civic associations.

Open all year round, Maison Gamboia offers double and family rooms and a studio with kitchen, from €105, breakfast included.

All spaces can be privatized upon request . Ceremony, reception, seminar, workshop, tailor-made stay to share with family, friends or colleagues.
