House Gamboia opened its doors in the Basque Country, in Hasparren, halfway between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-Pied de Port. Both guest rooms and artists' residences, the singularity of its living spaces lies in the immersion of guests in a setting dedicated to art, design and craftsmanship. Its 5 rooms highlight local artists, designers and artisans. Objects and works of art are to be offered or collected. The vast garden of 1500 m2 is an invitation to stroll in the middle of the vegetable garden, rosebushes and fruit trees. It offers a view of the church tower, the forest and the surrounding mountains.
The House Gamboia table is committed to local producers and selects seasonal products from the Association for the Maintenance of Peasant Agriculture in Hasparren.
The House Gamboia offers a cultural program in collaboration with the reciprocal, an association that imagines new collaborative schemes that intertwine artistic practices, artisanal heritage, and science. The association connects artists, designers with craftsmen, historians, researchers; and organizes research residencies, educational workshops, symposiums around arts, design, crafts and science. The reciprocity sets up actions with/with the inhabitants, and develops lasting links with schools, cultural institutions and civic associations.
