    • First under the authority of the Dukes of Gascony, Ossès is
      passed under Navarre supervision from the marriage of the King of Navarre's daughter to Richard the Lionheart, in 1191.
      The village has several neighborhoods, visit its beautiful traditional Basque houses with a mixture of influences from both Labourdines and Navarre, the 16th century Saint Julien Church which replaced a 12th century Romanesque chapel, the Sastriarena house, at the exit of the village in direction of Irissary, which was once the secondary residence of the Bishops of Bayonne, and finally the Ugarzan district and its hospice which belonged to Roncesvalles.
      Many walks and trails, discover in particular the Laka waterfalls and the Baigura and L'Hartzamendi mountains.
