- The El Puerto Hotel & Spa located in the port of Mundaka with a view of the famous Mundaka wave, is a former fishermen's house transformed into a hotel, opened in 1988.
  It has 11 rooms, 8 of which have a view of the port of Mundaka and 3 interior rooms.
  From the terrace of our bar (El Puerto, open from 8 a.m.) you can enjoy a magnificent view of the port of Mundaka in a privileged environment. The location of our hotel will allow you to enjoy the sea and the mountains, the magnificent landscapes of the Urdaibai Reserve and to discover the culture and traditions of the Basque Country.
  We have recently opened an apartment building next to the hotel which has a spa for private use (by reservation), a gym and a meeting room available to our guests.
  We have private parking (€20 per day) WIFI throughout the hotel.
  Prices vary depending on the season:
  - From €70 to €150 for 2 people depending on season.
  - Breakfast €10.

We booked 4 nights and stayed in the room with port-view, no balcony. We enjoyed to observe anytime an idyllic bustle in one of the most lovely port we have seen in the basque country. The hotel is at the same time a good visited Restaurant in the fisher-village with fantastic pintxos. This is why the employees are mostly down to serve the guests, than to work at the reception. But it didn’t bother us. Only the parking-situation was a bit annoying. They wanted to charge us 20€/day in their own underground car-parking. We think this is totally overpriced. We used it 2 nights, but this tight parking space made us afraid to destroy the rental car. So we just parked at the public spaces, which are for free. That was fine. At the end the hotel charged us only 15€/per parking day. All in all it was a very nice stay and if we come back to Mundaka, we definitely stay at Hotel El Puerto again!

Beautiful location, amazing views of the port, the sea and the awesome Mundaka waves. The rooms are cute, clean and tidy, well equipped with all necessities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying here is you are visiting Urdaibai, Bermeo, Bakio, Gernika. Guest parking available. You can't go wrong, do it, book it!!

This is a small Hotel, extremely comfortable, overlooking the Harbour at Mundaca on the Spanish Basque Coast. Views of the multi coloured fishing boats from your bedroom window, then walk out of the small harbour, to watch the surfers rolling in on the surf. Then go for a ride on the beautiful Basque Ria Coast, with small fishing villages, fantastic views (don't forget your camera), excellent fish restaurants, then catch the Ferry from Bilbao or Santandar back to the UK. Fantastic experience, try it, you will be amazed!!
