- In the pretty town center of Ascain, the Larralde restaurant has been welcoming you for 4 generations in a warm atmosphere.
  
  We offer traditional cuisine based on local products: homemade pâté, beef axoa, piperade and grilled ham, squid sautéed in garlic, Spanish hake, fish soup, omelette with porcini mushrooms...
  
  We have 2 rooms as well as a terrace with a view of the Rhune, overlooking the garden and the family pediment which is very popular with children.
  
  MENUS:
  - Menus 19€ and 27€
  - Children's menu 9€
  SCHEDULE:
  Weekly closing:
  - Monday all day and Tuesday noon from July 10 to September 15
  - Annual closure 15 days at the beginning of December and the whole month of February

Visited the beautiful village of Ascain twice this autumn. On both trips we had dinner in Larralde restaurant. And both times we were served beautiful wholesome authentic food. The highlight, for me personally, would be the homemade pâté starter that is big enough to be shared by 2 people. Amazing! And their sorbets and ice creams are delicious, both times I had the blueberry sorbet and loved it.

Based on the reviews our expectations were high. Oops, what a disappointment: the canard a l' orange was like chewing gum. For the steak a set of piranha teeth were reguired. And last but not least the owner did not blink an eye when we settled the score. Worst meal ever. Positive points: good wine and an excellent waitress.

Family run restaurant where the 10 years old owner's daughter will welcome you on school holidays. Best of traditional Basque cooking at very reasonable prices.
