Cambo-les-Bains

Water in all its forms for health and pleasure

According to tradition, Cambo-les-Bains already enjoyed an excellent reputation in Roman times. The station experienced a revival of activity under Napoleon III but it was not really until the beginning of the last century that a great Brazilian fortune modernized the Baths. However, it is to Adrien Barthélemy, the founder of the Chaîne Thermale du Soleil, that we owe the rediscovery of hydrotherapy in France and the development of the exceptional thermal domain of Cambo-les-Bains, established in the heart of a 12 hectare wooded park.

Nestled in the heart of a valley on the banks of the Nive, the Cambo thermal establishment enjoys a privileged location set back from the city. The main building was built in 1926 in a neoclassical and Art Deco style by the architects Émile Molinié, Charles Nicod and Henri Sajous. The road that leads there sets the scene and the relaxing setting: a lush exotic park of twelve hectares with a hundred majestic palm trees. Cambo exudes calm, tranquility and voluptuousness.

Therapeutic virtues unique to the Cambo-les-Bains thermal baths

Cambo waters, rich in sulfur and zinc, are particularly recommended in rheumatological and respiratory tract treatments. Directly used in baths, Cambo mud and thermal water completely permeate the body, and act in depth by relaxing the painful muscles and joints in the event of osteoarthritis, back pain, osteoporosis, low back pain , chronic inflammation, fibromyalgia, joint stiffness etc ... In the thermal center, nearly 5000m2 are devoted to the care of spa guests, with three pools and a multitude of rooms dedicated to various pathologies. On the respiratory side, the goal is to reduce repetitive infections and medication intake by relieving the ailments associated with asthma syndromes, bronchitis, ear infections, rhino-sinusitis, hay fever, etc. Thermal water is used directly on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract to deeply cleanse them and make breathing easier.

In addition to these classic cures, the establishment has widened its range of treatments by specializing in very specific cures : post-breast cancer cures, mini-cures, tinnitus treatment… A whole program in the service of fragile health which can affect the elderly but also concern prevention at any age by a change in behavior, lifestyle, resumption of sport or a diet adapted to his condition.

A whole team of health professionals is mobilized to welcome the spa guests and facilitate their stay: care agents, physiotherapists, a dietitian, a sports educator, a psychologist, a sports coach, nurses, a yoga teacher, a pilates teacher, a podiatrist etc. A discreet army of therapists at your service to provide you with the best care! So many promises of well-being and the art of living.

Good to know :

A thermal cure at the thermal baths of Cambo-les-Bains can profit from a assumption of responsibility by the Health Insurance, if it is prescribed by your attending physician, and that it is spread out over a period of 18 days. Other, shorter spa treatment formats are also available - from a simple weekend to a stay of one or two weeks - but they are not supported.
