The most famous production of Itxassou is the cherry, revived in recent years by young farmers who have replanted more than 4000 cherry trees. It has made the reputation of this peaceful village of 2000 inhabitants, which each year receives thousands of visitors to celebrate the "Cherry Festival" in June.

An unprecedented festival dedicated to culture takes place each year in July : "Errobiko festibala" during which concerts, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, courses are offered to the public.

To raise awareness of its territory, the town created in 2006 a place of evocation dedicated to the village : ATEKA. It is associated with a bakery / pastry / tea room. Located in the heart of the village, the space has been requalified in 2017. Here we are today, in this renewed and redesigned space where interactive screens, mock-up, slideshow, temporal frieze, videos and other documentations are freely accessible.
