Cambo-les-Bains Towns and Villages in Cambo-les-Bains

On the banks of the Nive which it dominates, Cambo-les-Bains was occupied since prehistoric times. The notoriety of Cambo is based on two sources, one ferruginous, the other sulphurous, which means that, throughout time, artists, celebrities, poets and writers have come there to treat various illnesses and at the same time enjoy the sweetness of its climate.

The Queen of Spain, the King of England, Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie once stayed there but the most famous resident of Cambo-les-Bains was undoubtedly Edmond Rostand who, during a stay to treat pleurisy, decided to settle there and build a sumptuous villa, Arnaga, which today houses the Edmond Rostand Museum.

Don't hesitate to open the doors of the Saint-Laurent church, a listed historic monument, or the Villa Arnaga, and set off to explore the magnificent Jardin des Thermes or the historic district of the city called Bas Cambo.
