According to tradition, Cambo-les-Bains already enjoyed an excellent reputation in Roman times . The station experienced a revival of activity under Napoleon III but it was not really until the beginning of the last century that a great Brazilian fortune modernized the Baths. However, it is to Adrien Barthélemy , the founder of the Chaîne Thermale du Soleil, that we owe the rediscovery of hydrotherapy in France and the development of the exceptional thermal domain of Cambo-les-Bains , established in the heart of a 12 hectare wooded park.
