    • The Auberge St Sylvestre: a suspended interlude in the heart of the Basque mountains

Nestled in the wild and majestic setting of the Aldudes Valley, the Auberge St Sylvestre is much more than just a place to stop: it's a destination in its own right for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In this sanctuary of Lower Navarre, the horizon is limited only by the Pyrenean peaks, and the silence is broken only by the sound of cowbells. Here, we invite you to experience total disconnection, far from the media frenzy and urban bustle, to rediscover the essential luxury of serenity and wide-open spaces.

The promise of a complete disconnection in the heart of nature

At Auberge St Sylvestre, time seems to slow down. The establishment has chosen to prioritize tranquility and rejuvenation. Whether you come for a romantic weekend or a solitary retreat, discover an environment where nature reclaims its space. Even at the height of August, when the Basque coast bustles with activity, the hiking trails offer a rare privilege: the feeling of being alone in the world.

Crossing the unspoiled landscapes of the Aldudes Valley offers a breath of fresh air and a sense of freedom found nowhere else. The comfortable and welcoming rooms are havens designed to prolong this feeling of well-being after a day of exploring the mountains.

A genuine welcome focused on the essentials

Choosing this hotel also means supporting a vision of tourism on a human scale. Ana and Cédric pride themselves on offering a personalized and sincere welcome, typical of Basque hospitality. While the Auberge is a haven of peace, it remains an ideal starting point: the medieval town of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is less than 30 minutes away, and the Basque coast and Pamplona are only an hour's drive. For an unusual getaway, the Bardenas desert and Olite Castle are accessible in less than two hours.

In the morning, the sight of the mist rising from your window over the surrounding peaks is reason enough to make the trip. Ana and Cédric focus on their guests' well-being, ensuring that each night spent with them feels like a true rejuvenation. For travelers seeking authenticity, Auberge St Sylvestre is the ultimate hidden gem, a haven where you can truly unpack your bags, both literally and figuratively.

Bonus : if you're looking for a place to work, the hostel can be booked privately !

We received a very warm welcome. My father celebrated his 80th birthday there. The service was superb and the food excellent. We have wonderful memories of it. I highly recommend it!

A wonderful welcome in Aldudes! A professional and warm welcome, an impeccable, clean, and pleasant establishment that blends tradition and modernity, run by a courageous young family, beautiful rooms with views of the forest or mountains, a simple yet effective local menu at very reasonable prices, with an extraordinary wine selection, a generous and varied breakfast served with a smile… we will gladly return and recommend it without reservation!

A truly wonderful experience. First, the warm and friendly welcome. Then, the setting, simply magnificent, and the restaurant equally so. The rooms are comfortable, recently renovated, and tastefully decorated. Finally, the restaurant itself is of exceptional quality, offering a delicious meal featuring local produce and cuisine worthy of a top chef. The breakfast is also incredible. This is a place well worth a visit and an absolute must-try.
