A valley rich in diverse landscapes

Located between the Franco-Spanish border and Navarre, the Baztan region is a tourist marvel to discover at your own pace (esp), between charming villages, rivers and forests.

  • The Baztan Valley, where nature reigns supreme, reveals 15 villages nestled among hills, green fields, and meadows. Numerous megalithic monuments adorn its peaks, bearing witness to its history.
  • Bertizarana is a small valley nestled in the heart of Baztan. It preserves the most extensive forests in the region and is distinguished by the Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park, a vast natural area of more than 2,000 hectares.
  • Bortziriak comprises 5 villages in northern Navarre, situated on both sides of the Bidasoa River. Mountains, meadows, forests… Nature is omnipresent, punctuated by farms and beautiful houses with architecture typical of the region.
  • The Malerreka Valley is lush and green, bathed by the Ezkurra and Ezpelura rivers which flow through numerous villages worth visiting. There are many hiking trails through the heart of nature.
  • Urdazubi/Urdax means "bridge and water" in Basque. This pretty village in the heart of the mountains lives up to its name and offers many opportunities for walks and hikes.
  • Zugarramurdi, also known as the "village of witches," is famous for its caves and verdant landscapes.

The Baztan region is a gem of Navarre, and you haven't seen anything yet!
