Auberge Etchoinia

At the foot of Munhoa Mountain, the hostel is a family home passed down from generation to generation for almost a century. It adjoins the three typical constructions of the heart of a Basque village : the pediment, the town hall and the church.

An excellent welcome will be reserved by Martine and Jean-Pierre. The innkeepers are involved in local community and economic life, and the family restaurant and bar is a real institution in the village.

For visiting guests and residents of the rooms, local menus, hearty and quality, are concocted by Martine and Jean-Pierre.

The 9 rooms, with bathroom, toilet and air conditioning, offer all the necessary comfort for a pleasant stay or a pleasant stage. Parking behind the hostel allows you to park your car in a private and secure place.

Auberge Etchoinia is also a restaurant where Martine and Jean-Pierre prepare daily menus from the specialties of the Basque Country.

Most of the ingredients used are local products, which ensures the freshness and quality of the dishes on offer.

Thus, the lamb was raised on the family farm located behind the inn, the trout come from the village of Ahaxe (Trout of Iraty) and the sheep's cheese is refined to the dairy cooperative of Saint-Jean-Pied de-Port (Garaziko Gasna Etxea).
