    • Salt Room Donostia – Salt Caves

Salt Room Donostia is a center specializing in halotherapy, a natural therapy that involves breathing microparticles of salt, similar to the microclimate of salt mines or the saline atmosphere of the seaside.

It offers numerous benefits, particularly for people suffering from respiratory or dermatological problems, but also for improving athletic performance and reducing stress. This treatment is suitable for adults and children from the age of three.

The salt caves at Salt Room Donostia are specially designed to replicate the microclimate of salt mines.
Halotherapy originated in the Wieliczka salt mines near Krakow in southern Poland, where doctors observed that the miners had no respiratory problems. It was there that the very first halotherapy center was established.

In some countries, halotherapy is recognized as a clinical therapy.

Salt therapy offers a wide range of benefits, thanks to the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and mucolytic properties of salt.
It cleanses and disinfects the respiratory tract, promotes the elimination of mucus, and provides, in addition to its therapeutic effects, a profound feeling of relaxation.

It improves quality of life, prevents, relieves and helps control respiratory disorders, such as sinusitis, bronchiolitis, cough or pharyngitis.

At Salt Room, halotherapy sessions can be combined with relaxing massages to enhance physical and mental well-being, reduce stress, improve circulation and promote deep relaxation in a saline atmosphere.

Their goal is to offer a holistic approach combining health, relaxation and revitalization in a single space.

The rooms are designed with walls, ceilings and floors entirely covered in salt, creating a natural environment free from any contaminants.

A forced ventilation system continuously diffuses a stream of air charged with microparticles of salt, thus creating an antiseptic atmosphere: the salt inactivates pathogens and improves air quality.

Salt caves are relaxation spaces where the only thing to do is breathe in an atmosphere rich in salt microparticles.

The center has three rooms, all covered with tons of salt spread across the floor, walls, and ceiling:

      • An adults -only room that recreates a paradise beach with sun loungers,
      • A children 's room, with a play area,
      • A room for individual or duo sessions, with the possibility of receiving wellness massages.
