Surrounded by magnificent old oak trees, designed in large spaces, it offers wide fairways, with holes distinct from each other. The American architect has managed to harmonize a very stylish layout in a grandiose, hilly and wooded natural site, to allow golfers of all levels to be at their ease.

Alone or as a couple, with family or friends, you will find at the Makila Golf Club the pleasure of the little white ball in an exceptional environment, facing the Basque mountains.

The main idea which, at the beginning of the 90s, guided the American architect Rocky Roquemore was the available space, approximately 87 hectares, to implant a golf course in the middle of an oak grove.
This space has made it possible to create a course, the longest in the Landes on the border of the Southern Basque Country, wide fairways, holes very distinct from each other and sometimes distant from the following tees. The course, very hilly, is not, however, penalizing and if one rarely achieves exploits, one generally plays his handicap.

When Jean Lecouls, entrepreneur and initiator of the project, asked the American architect to design this route at the gates of Bayonne, the key ideas proposed by Rocky Roquemore were as follows :
