    • Arcangues will amaze you with its architecture, its traditions, its culture and its illustrious characters. This village is located not far from Espelette and Ainhoa, inland.

Arcangues is mainly known for its golf but it was made famous by Luis Mariano where he is buried.

The Saint-Jean-Baptiste church has an architecture typical of religious buildings in the Basque Country. Inside, the galleries on two floors, the painted choir and above all its ceramic Way of the Cross. The ceiling is also original, with an upturned boat hull. Arcangues being on the way to Santiago de Compostela, you should not be surprised to find several scallop shells, both inside and outside the religious building. One of the stained glass windows of the choir represents Joan of Arc, Patron Saint of the Arcangues family!

The tomb of Luis Mariano is indicated, it is the most ornate of all. The view from the cemetery is superb, with the mountains, the houses in red and green colors and the golf course below.
