LAGA Rioja – Guided buggy tours through the vineyards of Rioja Alavesa

Starting from Laguardia, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Rioja Alavesa, LAGArioja offers a different way to discover the wine region of La Rioja: guided buggy excursions through vineyards, rural roads and landscapes of Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta, at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria.

This wine tourism experience is designed for couples, families, groups of friends, and companies looking for a unique outdoor activity in the Basque Country and La Rioja. Participants drive their own 2- or 4-seater Can-Am Maverick buggies, which are automatic and as easy to handle as a car.

A guide accompanies the group throughout the tour and provides insights at each stop: viewpoints overlooking the vineyards, emblematic wineries with unique architecture, hermitages, dolmens and panoramic views of the wine-producing villages of the Ebro Valley.

LAGarioja proposes three buggy routes:

• UVA Route (1.5 hours): a first contact with the vineyards of Rioja, ideal for a short getaway.
• VINEYARD Route (3 hours): a more complete tour, with a tasting of local products at the end.
• SIERRA Route (4 hours): the longest route, to go further and enjoy more landscapes, also with a final tasting.

The VINEYARD and MOUNTAIN routes end with a tasting of local products : a glass of DOCa Rioja wine, white or red to choose from, accompanied by cured meats and artisan cheese from small local producers.

All activities are guided, in Spanish or English, and take place on authorized routes. Passengers can participate from the age of 4, while the driver must be at least 25 years old and hold a valid Category B driving license for more than 2 years.

LAGArioja also organizes private routes, group outings and activities for companies, and offers gift vouchers valid for one year.
