Fancy a thrilling rafting adventure down the Nive River? Get ready for excitement and laughter without worrying about travel or logistics. Between playful rapids and unspoiled landscapes, the Nive Valley is the perfect playground for a refreshing and sporty getaway with family or friends. This summer, Arteka, based in Bidarray in the heart of the valley, is making it easy to experience the adventure with a dedicated shuttle departing from the Basque coast every Tuesday in July and August.

No need to plan a vehicle or juggle journeys: just hop on board, the rest of the day is taken care of until you return to the coast.

The principle: a turnkey rafting day

No need to take your car to reach the inland areas. The shuttle provides service from six pick-up points located between Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Bidart and Biarritz :

Saint-Jean-de-Luz : Akotz bus stop;
Bidart : Uhabia bus stop, Berrua bus stop (behind the entertainment hall), stop in front of the Ilbarritz campsite;
Biarritz : bus stop in front of Biarritz Camping, bus stop above the Bela Basque campsite.

The day's program:

From 9:20 am : departure of the shuttle from the Basque coast, with pick-up at the various stops.
Rafting trip down the Nive (1 hour 30 minutes of navigation), supervised by an instructor, after equipment fitting and briefing.
Lunch break at the Bidarray leisure centre : shaded picnic area (bring your own packed lunch) or bar-snack option on site (paninis, drinks, ice cream).
Early afternoon : return by shuttle to the Basque coast.

The rafting activity lasts 2 hours and 20 minutes in total (equipment, briefing, navigation, return to base) for an outing that frees up the afternoon.

A choice of boats, accessible from age 7

The activity is accessible to all swimmers from 7 years old, on an 8-seater raft.

Several formats are available for ages 12 and up :

Mini-raft (3 to 5 seats);
Canoe-raft (2 places);
Raft pack (1 person).

Changing rooms, wetsuits, life jackets, helmets and paddles are provided on site.

This fun, sporty, and accessible rafting trip is ideal for families, friends, or groups. Beyond the comfort, the shuttle allows you to enjoy rafting without having to leave your vehicle parked, or to let part of the group do other things while the others take on the rapids.
