A visit to the 1-star Lore Ttipia restaurant at the Auberge Ostape hotel. We arrived via a remote, scenic road and were then transferred from the parking lot to the restaurant by electric buggy. The rest of the experience was pure epicurean bliss, with impeccable service and a divine wine pairing menu, all set in a timeless atmosphere with breathtaking views. A truly enchanting escape from the current hustle and bustle. Congratulations and thank you to the chef and his team, the sommelier, and the front-of-house staff. We will be back.

1- The gourmet restaurant: the setting is enchanting. A Michelin star within a 5-star hotel, perfection is expected. And it should also be a celebration. Despite a caring and attentive team, maintaining a perfect rhythm throughout the meal in a relaxed atmosphere, the dishes themselves, in my opinion, lacked the generosity and flavor I had hoped for. Yet everything was there: the mastery, the refinement, the artistry. But was it because of the minuscule portions, like the "pigeon" (an extra €9 on a €128 menu), symbolized by a quarter of a delicious and fragrant wing, but only 20 or 30 grams? Was it because of the dish substitutions made for my partner (I had warned in advance that there would be no seafood) who ended up with a spoonful of peas instead of fish and a lamb chop (this is a Michelin-starred restaurant) versus another fish dish for me? It's disappointing. Of course, we were thrilled to have the privilege of being there, but after a while, the initial wonder faded somewhat. I would like to thank the staff for their kindness, dedication, and professionalism, as well as for their thoughtful gesture for my birthday. 2- The hotel: You enter a different world once you pass through the gates, and the whole place has a dreamlike quality, with Basque-style houses scattered across a vast estate with splendid trees and vegetation. Everything has been designed to respect privacy and tranquility. The suite was spacious and beautiful, very clean, and truly pleasant. Five stars? Perhaps not, because of the wobbly mini-fridge in the cupboard and the slightly worn garden chairs. The pool area is magnificent, with that extraordinary view and peaceful atmosphere. But several stained sun lounger cushions might have been an oversight at the beginning of the season. The magic of this exceptional place, combined with the high quality of the team, offers a truly special experience. Regarding the cuisine, I didn't find it particularly generous or well-rounded, but that's just my personal opinion… You really have to go and judge for yourself, knowing that the refinement and technique are on par with the nearby Artzamendi!
