A guided tour – Two exceptional caves

ISTURITZ

Cave-habitat, a key site of prehistory and a reference for the history of Man.
Cave art of the Pyrenean-Cantabrian chain, remarkable archaeological remains and presentation of the famous engraved pillar, a major work in situ.

OXOCELHAYA

An underground sanctuary, a veritable cathedral of time, adorned with spectacular concretions: pillars, draperies, lithophones… A thousand-year-old mineral jewel.

Themed tours

• Audio tour : an immersive experience in five iconic rooms (ages 12+). Last tour on Sunday.
• Art & Prehistory Visit : 1.5-hour lecture with a prehistorian (ages 15+).
• Photo tour : photo shoot session with tripod, for 1 hour 30 minutes (5 to 8 people).
• VIP Premium Tour : Private and exclusive tour €120+ ticket price per person (2 to 10 people)

• July/August: Monday to Friday at 5pm
• School holidays: Monday to Friday at 4:30 pm, summer holidays at 5 pm (by reservation)

• Pets are not allowed in the caves.

The prehistoric flutes of Isturitz

True witnesses to the Paleolithic era, the Isturitz flutes offer a unique link to the musical and spiritual life of early Homo sapiens. They remind us that music, art, and nature were already deeply intertwined in ancient societies. Even today, they inspire researchers, artists, and enthusiasts.

Immersive visit : every Sunday (5pm or 6pm in summer) with sound creations by Pierre Estève, composer-researcher, broadcast in five emblematic rooms.
