Forêt du Pignada Nature Reserve in Anglet

The Pignada Forest is nestled between the dunes of the Basque coast and the mouth of the Adour. It forms a real green lung between Anglet and Bayonne. This forest is an exceptional natural site. It is an old-growth forest that is home to very old specimens and a great diversity of species. Unfortunately, it was devastated by a fire in 2020. 90 hectares were preserved and reopened to the public very quickly. A new portion will be accessible again in 2021. To protect this “Sensitive Natural Area”, it is advisable to respect the landscaped paths. A fitness trail is also available, as well as picnic areas.
