Cité des mémoires Dive into the history of the Basque Country in a fun and interactive way

Opened in 2024, La Cité des Mémoires, in the heart of Hendaye, invites families and children to travel through time in a fun and interactive way. This unique place to visit allows you to discover the fascinating history of Hendaye and the Basque Country, through 9 immersive and captivating rooms.

Visitors will find themselves immersed in various eras , from witchcraft in the 16th century to neo-Basque architecture , the secrets of smuggling , the great conflicts of the 20th century , local gastronomy , and of course, the history of the border and customs . Each room has its share of surprises and discoveries!

It is even possible to play it by solving, on your mobile phone , the different puzzles hidden in the different universes (2 versions of the game: children from 8 years old and adults).

An adventure full of discoveries and emotions for young and old , where each visit becomes a real journey into the past.
