Enjoy a Sunday brunch

Sunday brunch is a 19th century American fashion. Since the 80s, it has landed in France and is very successful, especially in cities. To combine the authenticity of Basque gastronomy with this very young tradition, the small town of Biarritz is the ideal place. We have selected some good addresses for you:

  • The Milwaukee café is located in the city center of Biarritz. Its brunches are reputed to be hearty and gourmet, with vegan choices.
  • For those who are very hungry, it 's the Canteen that will satisfy the bon vivants with its all-you-can-eat buffet.
  • Finally, if you are more of a gourmet than a big eater, it is the subtle and original brunches at Manatee that will delight your delicate taste buds.

Introduce you to surfing

Surfing is a very popular sport on the Basque coast. Want to start? Then you've come to the right place. Plage de la Côte des Basques is an easy spot, especially at low tide. You will find schools nearby to equip you and benefit from good advice. For seasoned surfers, it is the Grande Plage of Biarritz and its impressive waves that will thrill you.

Try a golf course in Biarritz

You want a quieter environment, but just as natural. The outskirts of Biarritz offer a sumptuous setting for all kinds of activities. The Phare golf course in Biarritz has been particularly famous since the end of the  19th century! This course is very interesting whatever your level and the panorama alone is worth the detour.

Take a walk on the Basque coast near Biarritz

The Basque coastline is absolutely beautiful. Whatever the season, a walk by the sea is an exceptional moment, almost meditative and poetic. Depending on the weather, you'll probably spot a few surfers, dancing on the waves. Sunset is a good time, when the last rays of the day illuminate this sumptuous "Côte d'Argent". During your walk, don't miss the small fishing port and the beautiful Biarritz lighthouse.

Have a drink in a Basque brasserie

The Basque Country has a reputation for friendliness and generosity to uphold. To appreciate it at its fair value and take advantage of this warm atmosphere, sit down in a Basque brasserie. We recommend the Docks de Biarritz. This place has incomparable charm. The Docks are home to many shops, with typical products from the Basque Country, including a microbrewery! You will discover craft beers, made by local producers.

Taste Basque gastronomy

Basque gastronomy is colorful, sweet on the palate and often spicy. Enough to revive your taste buds and end the day in style. Many restaurants will help you discover it. Whether you like cheerful brasseries or luxurious gourmet restaurants, you will find what you are looking for in our directory of restaurants in Biarritz.
