2026 is a great year for climbers who are discovering a new climbing gym at 18 rue des Mésanges in Biarritz, the only one in the Basque Country to offer bouldering and routes accessible to all. Open since May, it invites young and old, beginners and experienced climbers to climb in a friendly atmosphere 7 days a week ! Ready to reach new heights? A climbing gym on a human scale

The major advantage of Bloc Session Biarritz is its human scale, which allows for close interaction with the team and personalized guidance. The regularly updated boulder problems and routes offer new challenges to discover each session, perfect for refining your climbing technique and movement. Follow the color-coded start labels; they indicate the difficulty of the problems, which are divided into 7 levels. From complete beginners with no real physical fitness to experienced climbers, there's something for everyone at Bloc Session Biarritz, which also welcomes independent climbers accustomed to the sport.

What makes Bloc Session Biarritz so appealing is the completely relaxed atmosphere created by Nicolas and his team, who welcome you with a smile. Passionate and skilled on the boulders, they are happy to guide you through your climbing session, offering encouragement and expert advice on specific climbing techniques. Approachable and friendly, they gladly share their climbing secrets and even offer individual and group lessons if you want to improve your climbing performance. Coaching sessions are also organized every Friday at lunchtime on a variety of topics, allowing you to refine your style and technique on the boulders. Heel placement, toe hook, hold position… Climbing is exciting ! The background playlist plays upbeat music, perfectly complementing the fun and sporty atmosphere of Bloc Session in Biarritz.

A kids' area

Climbing is available for children as young as 3 at Bloc Session Biarritz, which dedicates its entire floor to them with a climbing area designed just for little ones. Like the adults, they'll discover a fun and playful course, perfect for testing their grip and balance.

High-quality equipment to reach new heights

Experienced climbers are thrilled to train on a wall over 6 meters high, a great introduction to sport climbing before heading out onto outdoor routes. And have you heard of climbing with a self-belay device ? Bloc Session Biarritz offers it, and it's clearly a hit, even with the youngest climbers as young as 3! Climbers love pushing their limits with an intense rhythm of ascent and descent, getting their heart pumping during endurance sessions. This device allows for independent climbing without a partner on the ground.

Blocks and routes renewed every week

It's impossible to get bored at Bloc Session Biarritz, which offers 10 sectors with 7 difficulty levels accessible from age 7, as well as 15 routes accessible from age 3. One sector is redesigned every week, the equivalent of 10 boulder problems from the 89 available at the gym. Needless to say, you'll have the opportunity to improve your skills at each session on varied routes after a warm-up on familiar holds.

100% fun climbing evenings at Bloc Session Biarritz

Open 7 days a week, the new climbing gym in Biarritz also organizes exclusive sports or themed evenings for a select few!

• Run & vertical evenings to push your limits with fast-paced climbing and descending sequences. The friendly atmosphere motivates climbers who take on the challenge to rack up meters climbed in 1.5 hours. Limited to 20 people.
• Student evenings to try rock climbing with friends after a day of studying. From 6pm to 10pm, they are organized on certain Thursdays to help you unwind.
• Girl power nights with free climbing for girls!
• Pizza nights to recharge after a climbing session (pizzas are free)

Stay tuned, there may be other sporting events planned throughout the year, either related to climbing or simply for the pleasure of getting together…

Events are free for subscribers or at the price of a session with an instructor in the gym in the form of a coaching session.
