    • Awarded the Living Heritage Company label in recognition of its unique artisanal know-how and benefiting from the "Basque Linen" Geographical Indication, Lartigue 1910 showcases French manufacturing of excellence, ethical and responsible.

Since 1910, the Lartigue family has perpetuated a unique artisanal expertise, weaving Basque linen in their workshops in Bidos and Ascain in southwestern France. Philippe Lartigue, a fourth-generation weaver, pays homage with creativity and passion to the Calixte Lartigue establishments, the first weaving workshops founded by his great-grandfather in Bidos. From winding to finishing, including weaving and warping, each stage of production is carried out with the utmost respect for the tradition of Basque linen weaving.

A visit to the workshop offers tourists and locals alike the opportunity to explore the history of the region, its traditions, and to learn more about an iconic product that many already own, without always knowing its origin or the steps involved in its production. Upon entering the weaving workshop, visitors are immersed in the rhythmic world of the warping looms and other mechanical machines. They can admire the age-old techniques of the weavers amidst the intricate tangles of multicolored cotton and linen threads (up to 5,500 threads for a single piece of fabric 1.80 meters wide).

All collections are woven from GOTS-certified organic cotton. A commitment to socially responsible and environmentally friendly manufacturing.

In 2017, Lartigue 1910 joined the select group of companies awarded the EPV label. This state-recognized award distinguishes French companies with outstanding artisanal and industrial expertise. In 2020, Lartigue 1910 obtained the Basque Linen Geographical Indication (GI ). The GI designates a product originating from a specific geographical area, possessing qualities, a reputation, or characteristics linked to that place of origin.

A true recognition that gives this iconic weaver a new reason to proudly display his stripes!
