About

  • English
    • The town of Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry invites you to discover the history of Lower Navarre and the village through a guided tour.

The visit begins at the Mehaka interpretation center, whose exhibition traces the history of Lower Navarre from its formation at the end of the 12th century to the disappearance of its institutions after the French Revolution.

We then invite you on a walking tour through the heart of the village of Baigorri to understand what it meant to "live in a village" before the Revolution. You'll discover the architecture of Baigorri's houses, the origins of their names and social status, as well as the history of Etxauz Castle and the church.

From September to June, a guided tour is offered every first Saturday of the month. From July to August, a special program is planned during the week. Information to come.
