    • Nestled in the heart of the green landscapes of the Basque Country, the Cave d'Irouleguy is much more than just a wine estate. It is a place where authenticity, culture and traditions merge around an exceptional product: Irouléguy wine.

Founded in 1952 by nine passionate winegrowers, the Cave d'Irouleguy is the first cooperative of the AOC Irouléguy. Today, it remains a key player, while remaining one of the smallest wine cooperatives in France, with an operating model based on solidarity and exchange. Winegrowers and employees work hand in hand to produce the most representative wines of this exceptional terroir.

Located in the heart of the Basque Country, it benefits from a vineyard cultivated on the slopes of the Basque mountains, where the grapes are harvested manually. The wines of the Cave d'Irouleguy are distinguished by their liveliness, elegance and aromatic richness, specific to mountain vines. The vintages, whether organic or without sulfites, are a true reflection of the meticulous work of the winegrowers. The diversity and quality of the grape varieties give each vintage a unique character, thus creating emotional wines that exalt the senses.

The Cave d'Irouleguy also offers an immersive experience for its visitors. A free and interactive tour, including a scenographic shop, allows you to discover the different stages of production, from grape to bottle. Thanks to immersive videos, a sensory game and a breathtaking view of the cellar, you will dive into the world of the work of the winegrowers and the Cave team. Children are not left out, with a drawing corner and a circuit adapted to their size.

Enjoy a free tasting to discover the unique flavors of the wines!

To enrich your experience, we offer several wine tourism activities:

      • Discovery tour: A complete immersion in the world of the Cellar and its vineyard, allowing you to understand the key stages of winemaking and to savor the wines (by reservation only).
      • Electric scooter rides: A fun and original activity to explore the vineyard and observe the work of the winegrowers up close, while having fun.
      • Vineyard walks with audio guide: A unique walk through the vineyards, with an audio guide to learn more about the history and terroir of Irouleguy.

Don't wait any longer to live an unforgettable experience and set off to discover the characterful wines and the exceptional vineyard of La Cave d'Irouleguy!

We liked the wine we purchased at the shop, the wines we bought from La Cave Irouleguy back in the UK are consistently very good. We wanted to try their whole range and planning to purchase a case to take back home. Unfortunately at the visitorcenter, we asked to taste the wines and were served a very small drop of wine, so we couldn't taste anything. It was a letdown, so we only bought one bottle.

Very good wines, but I really didn't appreciate the young man's remark about Bordeaux wines. Having supposedly worked at a Médoc château (he refused to specify which one), he claimed that water is added to the wine. To denigrate his fellow winemakers in this way is absolutely unacceptable. I won't specify which day I came, but I hope you will hold a meeting so that these people are careful about what they say. I am the grandson, son, and brother of winemakers, and this is very hurtful. A word to the wise...

After waiting for a quarter of an hour to be attended to, we nevertheless indicated our greetings, which were ignored. So we left without being asked if we wanted any information. We therefore did not taste their wines, which we wanted to buy.
