The Cave of Irouleguy

Created in 1952 by 9 passionate winegrowers, the Cave d'Irouleguy is the wine cooperative of the AOC Irouléguy. Today it represents a collective on a human scale and remains one of the smallest wine cooperatives in France. Its operation is based on exchange and a spirit of solidarity in which winegrowers and employees come together to produce the wines most characteristic of this terroir.

Located in the heart of the Basque Country, the grapes come from vines planted on the sides of the Basque mountains and are harvested exclusively by hand. The wines produced by the Cave d'Irouleguy have the liveliness, elegance and aromatic charm of mountain vines. Our emblematic cuvées, organic or sulphite-free, are each the expression and the fruit of the work of our winegrowers. The richness and diversity of our grape varieties make our wines, vintage after vintage, products of emotion and exaltation of the senses.

The Cave d'Irouleguy is also an integrated tour of the store in order to understand the journey from grape to bottle. Immersive videos, headphones, a game around scents, views of the vat room and one of our barrel cellars allow you to see the work done by the winegrowers and the employees of the Cellar. The tasting of our wines is offered to you ! For children, a drawing corner and a circuit at their height are offered.

Our team also offers guided tours under different formulas. You will be able to discover in detail all the strategic stages of winemaking and taste our wines with the Discovery Tour. The Terroir tour will immerse you in the world of our winegrowers with a private tasting, like a cellar master, of our wines in barrels and our old vintages. Treat yourself to a unique experience !
