- Bayona, a Basque espadrilles house with 130 years of history
  Founded in 1890, the Bayona house passes on the love of beauty and well-made goods from generation to generation. In 1999, while the factories were closing, Pierre Larralde, a former employee of the house, decided to buy the brand and pass it on to his son, Nicolas Larralde.
  
  Bayona is above all a family story claiming a modernity respectful of the past with traditional and elegant collections. Each espadrille is handmade in the pure Basque tradition with rigor and creativity. The gesture of the craftsman is highlighted with the aim of preserving, promoting and transmitting to generations the ancestral know-how of Basque heritage.
  
  Today, Bayona continues to grow. Located in Saint-Jean-de-Luz at 30 and 60 rue Gambetta, a third brand will open its doors in June 2022 in Bayonne. Also present on the internet, bayona.fr will celebrate its first candle in May 2022.

We discovered the Rayonna boutique during a trip to the area, and what a pleasant surprise! My wife bought a pair of espadrilles there, and everything was perfect: a warm welcome, a smiling and passionate team, and an absolutely beautiful store. The selection is impressive, and each product is presented with great care. You immediately feel the attention to detail, quality, and comfort. The espadrilles are superb and incredibly comfortable. We were then curious to visit their new website… and wow, what a surprise! The site is simply breathtaking, perfectly reflecting the store. The products are beautifully showcased, with high-quality photos, some even showing them being worn, which really helps you visualize them. My wife and I were blown away by the overall experience. And to top it all off: the order was placed and delivered to our door within 48 hours. An exemplary customer experience, a rare find these days. Well done to the whole Rayonna team!

We've had the pleasure of visiting this establishment for several years now, whenever we have the chance to spend a few days in Saint Jean. A very pleasant and friendly welcome 😊. My mentally disabled brother made the mistake of going into this store. During a family outing on December 24th, the salesman, thinking he was alone, called him a "bus maniac" and then a "nutcase." When we expressed our outrage, instead of an apology, we were told that he "couldn't have known because we hadn't introduced ourselves." Furious, we left and are leaving this comment as a sign of our indignation and the dismay we felt. A deplorable individual who, thankfully, remains an exception, but who should discourage anyone from shopping at Bayona. So much for the spirit of Christmas!
