    • Located at the gates of Bayonne and along the Nive, Plaine d'Ansot is a sensitive natural area of 100 hectares offering a green island in periurban area. Integrated into the Natura 2000 network, this regulated site is an area of barthes, consisting of a mosaic of natural environments (woods, meadows, reed beds, streams...) sheltering a particular flora and fauna.

      Various facilities are available to the public: Maison des Barthes, public reception area, picnic area, ornithological observatory ... Visitors can also count on the presence of the Bayonne Natural History Museum and its scientific exhibitions. The discovery trails allow you to explore the site on foot, by bike or on horseback.

      Many activities (scientific animations, creative workshops, nature outings...) are also available to the public throughout the year.

      Opening: Winter period, from October 15th to April 14th: weekdays from 8am to 5:30 pm, Saturdays / Sundays, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Summer period, from April 15th to October 14th: weekdays from 8am to 7pm, Saturdays / Sundays, from 9.30am to 7pm, Open on the holidays of May 8th, July 14th and August 15th.

      Closing: Weekly closing on Mondays. Closing the other holidays, the weeks of the Bayonne, Christmas and New Year holidays.

      Rates: Access to the site, participation in activities (activities / workshops / conferences / visits ...) and admission to the exhibitions of the Museum are free, except for some nocturnal activities.

    New exhibits every 4 months. The natural museum is small (compared let's say to the one in Toulouse). But the settings are cool (by the river along the river). We keep going back....

    A très peu du centre ville de Bayonne, havre de paix et découverte ne notre si belle nature. En période de migration il y a des observatoires pour observer les oiseaux. Accueil sympathique, toilette public, musée éducatif pour oes jeunes enfants, bref une étape indispensable.

    Bonjour, Le lieu est surprenant,un dépaysement total dans un endroit un peu trop méconnu . Le fléchage pour accéder à la plaine d’Ansot n’est pas assez précis, je pense avant tout aux visiteurs...
