At the foot of Mount Baïgurra, Louhossoa is a very pretty little village of about 600 inhabitants, which on the road to Saint Jean Pied de Port, marks the entrance to Lower Navarre. Until the 1960s, Louhossoa lived off the Kaolin industry which, transferred to Limoges, made it possible to manufacture the famous porcelain. Today mainly agricultural, the village invites you to stroll through its small streets and admire its pretty 19th century houses, grouped together as often in the Basque Country, around the central square, the church and the Fronton.
Many leisure activities (initiation to Basque pelota, hiking, mountain biking and paragliding in Baïgurra, whitewater leisure center) are all opportunities to discover Louhossoa, as well as Basque dancing, for which a performance hall has was specially designed.
Our little advice: a stopover for lunch at the Restaurant du Trinquet in the heart of the village, perfect value for money!
