Onetik Visit and tasting at the Onetik cheese dairy in Macaye

Discover the authenticity of the Basque Country by visiting the farm of our producer Beñat!

For over 40 years, the ONETIK cheese factory has been producing authentic and tasty Basque cheeses with the greatest respect for tradition.

Located in Macaye, a small village in the Basque Country, ONETIK collects milk from more than 200 farms to transform it, in its workshops, into a complete range of cheeses made from sheep's milk (including AOP Ossau-Iraty), cow's milk and goat's milk.

In these cheeses with their unique taste, all the richness and diversity of the Basque landscapes and characters are expressed.

Every summer, the producers of the ONETIK cheese dairy introduce you to their herd, the dog that watches over it, and their facilities. They explain the care taken to produce quality milk, which in turn makes excellent cheese.

Upon returning from the visit, a tasting is offered at the shop to all participants.

Onetik, a cooperative and family cheese dairy!

Onetik supports more than 200 farming families across the Basque Country.
While some farms are located in remote or very small areas, Onetik continues to collect milk there.

It thus works to maintain the small farms that form the fabric of the region and to safeguard responsible livestock farming.
All young people who want to settle down are supported.
All liters of milk are paid at the same level.
Onetik supports farmhouse cheese producers by collecting their surplus milk.
Even if the breeder produces more than the quota, surplus production is still paid at the best price. No penalty is applied.

Don't hesitate to come and taste the fruit of the passionate work of its breeders directly at the shop in Macaye, open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. all summer and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. the rest of the year.
Our store is closed on public holidays and weekends.
