Not far from Biarritz, less than ten kilometers away, Ahetze is located in the province of Labourd. It is a typical village that invites and introduces all its visitors to Basque culture with its typical labourdin-style houses.
On the way to Santiago de Compostela, the Saint-Martin church has remarkable furniture as well as an original processional cross since it is equipped with bells. The old cemetery again houses several headstones, as is the case in many other Basque villages.
Take a little height and discover all the Basque peaks from Ahetze: the Rhune, the Mondarrain, the Artzamendi, the Ursuia as well as the Three Crowns in Spain.
Ahetze is also well known for its flea market which takes place every third Sunday of the month, all day long.
