    • Come and discover the culture of cocoa and the history of chocolate in Bayonne!

Between legends and stories, in the footsteps of the myth of Quetzalcóatl, relive the conquest of the Mayan and Aztec civilizations as well as the arrival of chocolate in Europe and Bayonne! Then step back in time with our collection of ancient manufacturing machines.

Throughout this trip, enjoy a gourmet look at the artisanal realization of our specialties made from 100% pure cocoa butter chocolate. Educational and fun, this course reveals all the stages of chocolate making.

Finally, from the harvest to its final transformation, experience the intense journey of the cocoa bean through a short film (20 minutes of screening) and discover all the secrets of its production.

A workshop for children then offers little budding chefs (ages 4 to 12) the opportunity to practice the profession of chocolate maker, giving free rein to their imagination to decorate a bite of delicate white chocolate. Fun creations they'll proudly take home.

Contemplate, touch, listen, smell, bite... At the end of the journey, your taste buds are rewarded by tasting a selection of exceptional and essential chocolates.

From outside the museum looked small but the inside was a pleasant surprise. There are lots of things to learn about the process chocolate goes through all the way from the farms to the shelfs. Information is written in both French and English. Chocolate tasting was great, the presenter was very friendly and warm. Worth the price and time, I recommend.

The visit met more than my expectations. It was also very educative - seeing even how all those machines work. My best part was sampling the chocolates at the end - would definitely do it again.
