    • A BASQUE KNOW-HOW TO DISCOVER FROM THE INSIDE

Founded in 1897 and located in Ossès, in the heart of the Basque Country, Maison Brana is a must-visit for anyone interested in fine local products. It first made a name for itself with its Williams pear brandy, which has become a regional benchmark. Since then, the range has expanded considerably: brandies, fruit liqueurs, gins, and even a whisky, Laminak, the first whisky entirely brewed, distilled, and aged in the Basque Country. It has recently developed a line of aperitifs, including a pastis with Espelette pepper and red and white vermouths, both made with its brandies.

In 2018, a new distillery was built in Ossès, recognizable by its beautiful copper-colored facade. Spacious and modern, it houses three copper stills and now welcomes the public for guided tours.

      Visits this summer

It's a wonderful way to spend an hour with family or friends (especially on a rainy day!). The guided tour, led by a member of the team, gives you access to the stills, explains the different stages of spirit production, and immerses you in the history of a distillery deeply rooted in its Basque heritage. The tour concludes with a tasting of Brana spirits.

The tours last approximately one hour, including a tasting. They are conducted in French, in groups of up to 10 people. The price is €12 per person, free for children under 12. Residents of Pyrénées-Atlantiques benefit from a reduced rate of €9 upon presentation of proof of residence.

      Book a distillery tour

Without a guided tour, the shop remains open all summer from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm, with free tasting without reservation for up to 5 people.
