Directions Couleurs Cerise - French handcrafted leather goods and leather workshops

About

  • English
    • Couleurs CERISE aka Cerise Pellizzoni, leather goods artisan, explores the world of leathers with an expertise that encompasses a diversity of materials, ranging from cork and Piñatex to classic leathers such as goat, lamb, cowhide, buffalo, and even fish!

Turning her passion into a profession, she brings to life bags, accessories, jewelry, and other objects in her Basque workshop under her brand, Couleurs Cerise. Passionate and eager to share her expertise, Cerise organizes creative workshops where you can collaborate with her to create a unique piece that reflects your own style.

From childhood, Cerise Pellizzoni cultivated her passion for horseback riding. Alongside her sister, she began riding and acquired her first horse at the age of 14. Inheriting the artistic skills of her father, a cabinetmaker, woodturner, and sculptor of wood and metal, Cerise, naturally skilled with her hands, began her career as a saddler and harness maker in a prestigious Basque saddlery. After the birth of her children, Cerise embraced entrepreneurship in 2017, while continuing her work in the leather industry. Gradually, she created her own line of leather goods, Full Colors, which she sells online through her website and at select events. You can also find her year-round at the charming artisan boutique Axuri Arte in Sare!

Meticulous and passionate, Cerise works in a traditional way, making a variety of products such as bags, totes, pouches, cases, wallets, card holders, keychains, belts, and even postcards!

She also places great importance on the repair of your leather goods, demonstrating her commitment to reusing rather than replacing your accessories, shoes, scooter seats, and even furniture.

Since September 2020, Cerise has been welcoming visitors to her small workshop in Arbonne to share her passion. She offers four different workshop formats to help you create your own leather accessory:

      • A glasses case (1 hour 30 minutes, €50)
      • A belt (3 hours 30 minutes, €110)
      • A wallet (4 hours, €120)
      • A tote bag (4 to 5 hours, €195).

Couleurs Cerise provides everything you need, with a wide selection of colors and threads. If you opt for the belt workshop, you can even choose the buckle to be crimped yourself, offering maximum personalization with the possibility of hammering in a date, a name, or even a decorative motif!

If you're newlyweds, this is a wonderful way to celebrate your leather anniversary with a personalized, unique, and handcrafted gift! Before you begin, you'll practice on scraps. Then, Cerise will guide you through each step of the design process, explaining the techniques, best practices, and how to use the materials. As you work, your creation will take shape before your eyes. You'll surely be surprised by what you can make, even without prior experience working with leather or cork.

Cerise's workshops are available year-round, Monday through Saturday, by reservation. Cerise welcomes individuals or groups of two. Reservations can be made online, by email, or by phone. The date and time will be arranged together. No prior experience is necessary, other than your curiosity and a positive attitude. However, a minimum age of 14 is required due to the use of certain cutting tools.

      À LA CARTE:

      • Parent-child workshops are also available on request from age 8 (from €40/2h, for example, to make a bracelet-keyring-pocket purse set), as well as mini technical trainings, such as sewing machine, leather, saddle stitch, or edge finishing, are offered from 4 hours.

Consider gift vouchers valid for 1 year for a workshop of your choice, guaranteeing the element of surprise and enjoyment!

Couleurs Cerise takes a unique approach by creating pieces from surplus materials and prioritizing "Made in France." Their creations are crafted from secondhand materials, sourced exclusively from offcuts or surplus stock, thus avoiding overconsumption. Vegetable-tanned, mineral-tanned, and fish-tanned leathers are sourced solely from France, Italy, or Spain. Cerise has chosen to primarily equip itself with French-made materials and use non-polluting products, such as water-based glue. The cork fabric is sourced directly from an eco-responsible Portuguese producer.

Cerise remains committed to researching and developing new plant-based materials derived from processed fruits, such as grapes, apples, bananas, pineapples, or even cacti and mushrooms, as alternatives to leather. If you'd like to explore your creative side and discover the art of working with leather and cork, head to Couleurs Cerise in Arbonne!
