Domaine d'Abbadia Nature Reserve in Hendaye

The Domaine d'Abbadia is a large park located on the Corniche d'Hendaye. The former home of Antoine d'Abbadie, a passionate scientist, built by Viollet-le-Duc is located in the heart of a natural site, classified as a “Sensitive Natural Area”. Perched on the cliffs of Hendaye, battered by sea winds, the area is home to typical heathland vegetation and great biodiversity. Rare orchids grow there in the spring and you will also see many nesting and migrating birds. The domain is open and free. The Coastal Path crosses it, along the ledge.
