  We arrived late and without reservations but were received warmly. The season had hardly begun and the site was largely empty. Rain was expected, and the receptionist kindly proposed that instead of pitching our tent, we camp in an incomplete glamping tent, for which we were very grateful. The site has no bar or restaurant and the shop was closed. The receptionist recommended restaurants in nearby Tarnos, or taking the very high-tech looking T2 bus into Bayonne. (It runs every 15 minutes until midnight.) The site’s big sanitary block boasts tubs in which one could hand-wash clothes – or rinse wetsuits. The showers were tepid and the WCs free of seats, toilet paper, or toilet-paper roll holders. We breakfasted the next morning on coffee and yesterday’s bread and moved on.

  Campsite not easy to find, poor location, decent sanitary facilities, a little expensive for a simple tent. But welcome

  Quiet campsite, we were allowed to choose a spot ourselves. Our place was close to an electricity point. Showers were fine, but when washing dishes it takes a little longer before the water is hot. Receptionist does her best to help you as best as possible. For example, we received a public transport card that had been left behind (ultimately did not use it) and we partly got our money back when we wanted to go a day earlier due to the bad waves in Tarnos.
