    • TALAIA: Walking sticks, makilas and Basque knives carefully crafted

Between Biarritz and Bayonne, Éric set up his workshop-boutique in Anglet to create unique Basque walking sticks, inspired by the traditional makila. Made from ash wood, these customizable hiking companions combine elegance and functionality. Each piece, designed to adapt to all tastes and sizes, is a true artisanal jewel. Whether you are a seasoned hiker or a lover of beautiful creations, walking with a Talaia stick is an experience as pleasant as it is authentic.

TALAIA: Unique walking sticks, revisited with passion in Anglet

With unique expertise and a passion for wood, Éric reinterprets the makila, the Basque walking stick steeped in history. Often reserved for the nobility and rarely used on a daily basis, the traditional makila is gaining new life in the TALAIA workshops. Made from precious, supple, and durable wood, the TALAIA stick is designed to be both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

The pommel, the true signature of these poles, can be personalized: opt for Manech horn, black or bone, and add engravings for a unique touch. The brass ring can also carry a dagger engraved with your image. With four sizes available, each pole adapts perfectly to your needs, combining tradition and modernity. Ready for your next hikes, you will be accompanied by an object as symbolic as it is useful.

Discover the Shepherd's Umbrella: Tradition and Modernity in the Basque Country

Eric innovates again with the Berger umbrella, a Basque institution revisited in collaboration with the family business "Les Parapluies des Pyrénées" in Pau. This high-end umbrella, large and comfortable, combines the traditional mechanics of Pyrenean umbrellas with a TALAIA wooden handle. The wicker ribs and the solid wood shaft make it an object as functional as it is elegant. The result of four-handed work, this umbrella is the perfect alliance between excellent craftsmanship and timeless design.

TALAIA: Accessories to maintain your makila and your Basque objects

A TALAIA makila or walking stick is not just a tool, but a true travel companion. To preserve their beauty and durability, Éric offers accessories designed specifically for their care. A non-slip rubber tip protects the stainless steel tip, while a protective cover, made in collaboration with Lartigue 1910, ensures they are kept in the best possible condition.

Made from Basque pantxica fabric, traditionally used for espadrilles, these covers combine tradition and elegance. They extend the life of your pole while providing a unique decorative item, ideal for enhancing any interior.

A workshop like no other in Anglet

In this artisanal space nestled on the Basque coast, Éric brings exceptional creations to life, whether Basque knives, makilas or traditional accessories. Each piece is made with passion, meticulousness and respect for traditions. Come discover this extraordinary workshop and leave with a unique object, imbued with the soul and values of the Basque Country.
