CHEZ MAITÉ shines a spotlight on a flagship product of the Basque Country. Well-known to locals but unknown to others: TALOa (or TALOak in the plural).
Located in the heart of greater Bayonne, between rue port neuf and rue thiers, CHEZ MAITÉ welcomes you with continuous service.
Originally, the Talo was a flat pancake that Maité was able to transform into a soft and crispy slipper while keeping the traditional Herriko dough(half corn, half wheat).
Maité wanted to rediscover the original taste of yesteryear, the one she had known through her Aitatxi (grandfather in Basque) in the family home in Ostabat, a village in lower Navarre, a thick, delicious and generous Talo.
Garnished to order with elaborate, original or exotic cuisine, you will find only local products.
Using the freshest regional products, Maité prepares Taloak for you to taste and also offers a menu of exclusively local ice creams, ciders and beers.
