Txu Txu, an exciting ride on a little train to discover Biarritz

Discovering Biarritz by train is a must, punctuated with stories and anecdotes about this seaside resort which had a prestigious past from 1825 with the development of the beaches to welcome sea bathing enthusiasts.

At the time, illustrious French and foreign families stayed there, including Queen Victoria, Kings Alfonso XIII, Edward VII, and Edward VIII… a prestigious era revealed by the presence of numerous castles and villas. Explore the streets of Biarritz and its magnificent coastline fringed with beaches during a 30-minute guided tour aboard a recently renovated electric train that gives you the impression of traveling on a replica of an 1850s railway.

The route includes stops at the Old Port, the Grande Plage, the Rocher de la Vierge, the Lighthouse, and the Casino, as well as other important tourist sites in the city. Board the Txu Txu train from the Grande Plage Ouest (Casino Esplanade) every 45 minutes, or every 30 minutes in summer. The train runs from April 1st to November 11th, and every weekend. "Queen of Beaches and Beach of Kings"—that sets the tone for the tour!

Schedules :

• April / May / June / September / October / November, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, departures every 45 minutes
• July/August, from 10am to 9:30pm, departures every 30 minutes
• December and February holidays: departure 2:00 PM / 2:45 PM / 3:30 PM / 4:45 PM

Individual rates - approximately 30 minutes

• Children under 3 years old: Free
• Children aged 4 to 12: €5
• Children 12 and older: €8

Group Rates - Approximately 45 minutes

• Children under 3 years old: Free
• Children aged 4 to 12: €6
• Children 12 and older: €9
