  A huge disappointment for this hotel, which on paper has everything for a pleasant and relaxing stay. But upon arrival, although the staff were pleasant and discreet, we were met with an outdated hotel. Many things are dated, such as the decor in the lobby and rooms, as well as the catastrophic state of the spa. The rooms do have a sea view, but at €1600 for two nights, I didn't expect to search in vain for an outlet in the bathroom for my blow-dry (because yes, sorry, but the hairdryers provided for blow-drying are a no-go), nor to take a bath with ants, or to find a power strip under a piece of furniture (a first for me), nor even to discover the obvious state of disrepair of the balcony with completely detached tiles. A disaster. It's a shame, because the room is large, and the balcony too, but this dated furniture doesn't make you want to relax. Anyway, moving on from that, the hotel offers a spa, which is just as outdated. The pool is ancient, it feels like a thalassotherapy center in a retirement home, it's ugly, the pool is full of rust due to the seawater, the hammam is great if you ignore the decor, which is again not worthy of a 5-star hotel... anyway, let's try the massages and honestly, it was the worst of my life, more like gentle pats than anything else, and basic neutral oil, even though I specified that I was in pain all over and the masseuse is supposedly a physiotherapist 😡 Anyway, apart from covering me in hot towels, I didn't understand the point. As for breakfast, although it offered a fair amount of choice and allowed you to try the famous Basque cake, I didn't find it to my liking, nor competitive compared to other places I've visited. However, it's worth noting that the decor must have been recently updated, as it's the only somewhat modern and nicely decorated space in the hotel. So, for me, the place could be nice, even a must-visit, because its location is excellent, it's large and offers multiple activities, and the staff is competent. But IT'S MORE THAN TIME FOR RENOVATIONS because it feels like a retirement home, before it becomes an urban exploration site. Because, I repeat: it's not up to what one expects from a 5-star hotel, or even a 4-star, and certainly not when you charge such prices and are part of a group like Accor, positioning yourself in the luxury category!
