    • Butcher – delicatessen – preserver since 1938, Pascal Massonde has been perpetuating this know-how for 4 generations. Our products have always been made in the small village of Souraïde, 3km from Espelette. In our store you will find Espelette Pepper AOP, from family production, as well as a whole range of derivative products (mustard, puree, oils, sauces, etc.) made by us.

      The recipes for our products come from the Basque gastronomic tradition, often inspired by a grandmother's recipe. Several of our products have distinguished themselves:

      • Confit pork liver pâté: 3 times medalist at the Paris General Agricultural Show (2013, 2015, 2017)
      • Black pudding: 3 times champion in the Basque Country best black pudding competition (2010, 2019, 2020), gold medal in the national competition in Mortagne au Perche (2019)


      For years we have been committed to the development of agricultural sectors in the Basque Country. We are a founding member of the Herriko Haragia association, which promotes 100% Basque Country meat (animals born, raised and slaughtered in the Basque Country).

      In our shop you will find:

      • Espelette Pepper AOP and its derivative products (salt, mustard, puree, oils, sauces, etc.)
      • Our ready-made meals and canned pâtés
      • Our charcuterie, IGP Bayonne ham and sausages
      • Products from the recovery of beef by-products (candles, soap, knives)
      • Products from our local artisan friends (wines, beers, fruit juices, jams, honey, chestnuts, seafood, etc.)


      Our team of enthusiasts is at your disposal to advise you.
      Open every day from 10am to 7pm from April to the end of October and from 10am to 6pm from November to the end of March.

    A beautiful shop with a wide range of Espelette pepper products. The prices are very attractive and the products are of high quality. In addition to being a pepper producer, they make a lot of charcuterie with their pepper.

    A very nice shop with a wide selection of products. We bought an assortment of pâtés and Espelette pepper/chili salt. Very good value for money. Nothing to complain about. The Basque pâtés and others are excellent. We received a very warm welcome at the Espelette shop.

    A beautiful shop, but that's not all. It's also a journey through time where you'll discover the founder's story and the chili pepper-making process. A wide selection of artisanal products, a warm welcome, and reasonable prices make this a must-visit in Espelette.
