    • Talaia, an artisan workshop you absolutely must visit in the Basque Country

Eric is passionate. First of all, motorcycles, but also a job well done and objects that are as beautiful as they are useful. All of these three elements allowed him to create his workshop today, Talaia. Basque walking sticks inspired by the makila and traditional regional and Japanese knives are the universe offered by this craftsman at heart in Anglet, between Bayonne and Biarritz. Let yourself be drawn into the history of the Basque Country.

Talaia, a Basque cutlery workshop with quality products in Anglet

The knife is a symbol of tradition and history of the Basque Country, taken up with talent and precision by Éric in his workshop. Pocket knives with switchblade or forced notch, table or kitchen knives, ttipia, handia or mini-handia knives, its range is varied and suitable

for all blade connoisseurs. The smooth -lined butt-shaped handle is almost as long as the forged steel or damascus steel blade. The materials used are noble and his work obtains the label of quality and authenticity with 100% Basque knives designed with essence of juniper, olive, ebony or boxwood. Choose your knife and complete the collection with the cutting board or the box, they are also made of wood.

Talaia, a unique Basque walking stick workshop in the Basque Country

The makila is a very old walking stick, often reserved for the nobility who ultimately used it little. Brought up to date by Eric, it is with the desire to restore all its function to this typically Basque object that he develops his talaia, inspired by the makila. Ash wood, black horn or bone knob, brass ring and stainless steel tip, it is the perfect companion for hiking. Available in 4 sizes and customizable, you will be conquered by the flexibility of the wood and the high handle

, surmounted by a knob, held with full hand to balance. When the walk is over, the makila can be used as a decorative object in your living room, a unique and traditional piece of craftsmanship from the region. Fall for Éric's shop, the Basque products are authentic.
