Mika Jatetxea is one of those restaurants you simply must visit if you're in Irún. The experience grew steadily, culminating in a truly exceptional meal. We started with the oxtail croquette: the presentation was impeccable, but upon tasting it, we felt it lacked a bit of intensity; it lacked the character and depth of flavor you expect from such a dish. However, the scallops were in a league of their own... a true spectacle! They were so incredible that we were literally drooling, a perfect dish. The star dish, without a doubt, was the ribeye steak. Flavorful, incredibly juicy, and cooked to perfection. Such high-quality meat that justifies the visit on its own. To finish, we tried the warm cheesecake. An interesting and daring choice with a good texture, although for our taste, it needed a touch more sweetness to truly round out the dessert. In short, a top-notch meal with impeccable service. We'll be back to try more things on the menu!

We were recommended this place because of their chef, and while the food was quite good (albeit a bit pricey), we were disappointed with the service. We sat outside and kept going inside to order because they didn't serve on the terrace, but one of the waitresses seemed reluctant to even speak to us. In fact, we had to double-check with another colleague about the food, as I'm celiac, and she assured me I could eat the breaded pintxos. We wouldn't be back.
