The Roof - Maison d'Escalade A plural place between sports and moments of relaxation in Bayonne

Located in the heart of the Forum in Bayonne, The Roof is the very first climbing gym in the Northern Basque Country. More than just a gym, the Maison de l'escalade is, like a trinquet, a plural place where you can practice your favorite sporting activity, eat, have a drink, attend cultural or sporting events, and above all, enjoy a moment under the sign of conviviality.

• On the sports side, The Roof team will introduce you to bouldering. This discipline is practiced on walls with limited height (4.5m at the highest) without rope or harness, safety being ensured by thick landing mats. Fun, friendly and easy to get to grips with, bouldering is for everyone, from beginners (from the age of 2) to experienced climbers.

• On the gourmet side, Chef Lili cooks up her daily specials every lunchtime (and in the evening by reservation) and also makes the pastries that adorn the sweets display case. At the Maison de l'Escalade, we only cook with fresh, local products, from organic farming when possible, with the aim of delighting you with simple, healthy cuisine full of love.
